  • The Ruth Bancroft Garden & Nursery | 1552 Bancroft Rd, Walnut Creek, CA 94598

The Ruth Bancroft Gardens in Walnut Creek is a world-famous garden that houses an incredibly diverse collection of plants from all over the world. In late winter and early spring, when most landscapes are drab, Ruth’s garden positively gleams with an array of fabulous textures, colors, and blooms that will delight you no matter where you look!

Ruth Bancroft’s love affair with succulents began in the 1950s when she became interested in aeonium hybrids and planted her first specimen, ‘Glenn Davidson.’ Her collection of plants grew considerably as time went on. Ruth created this 3.5-acre garden from an original private space that quickly outgrew its area thanks to Ruth’s expertise and determination to cultivate these amazing drought-tolerant species for everyone else!

Ruth Bancroft Gardens is the first garden in America to be conserved by The Garden Conservancy. Mrs. Bancroft gardened well into her nineties, and though she died at age 109, her legacy lives on today with people from all over coming to marvel at this splendid place of flowers that continue blooming for many years even after being created decades ago!

  • Contra Costa Christian Schools | 2721 Larkey Ln, Walnut Creek, CA 94597

Contra Costa Christian Schools was founded in 1978 as a high school to serve the Walnut Creek community with about 85 students in grades 9-11. The next few years saw an expansion, and now it is known for its classes from grade nine through twelve. When Woodland’s School opened their doors in 1982, they started teaching kids up until 8th grade on campus shared by both schools; but after some time there were more than enough children transferring between campuses that Contra Costa Christian Schools agreed to amalgamate into one single entity – serving all ages of K-12 education under one roof!

Contra Costa Christian Schools has remained true to its original purpose of preparing the next generation with Christian principles and a strong academic foundation for almost 40 years. In that time, they have changed their curriculum but never strayed from giving East Bay families access to high-quality education without any religious affiliation or discrimination. Contra Costa is committed to not only providing a 21st-century education but also ensuring it’s rooted in values that will prepare students for success in whatever job field they choose later on down the road.
